When you see one of them, there’s little chance you won’t see the other one. These fairground girls are inseparable. Meet the most adorable twins in the world, Shari and Jissy.
For this photoshoot, the two of you posed fully nude. How did you feel about this?

You seem like two confident women. You don’t have any uncertanties?
Shari: “Of course I have. Since my puberty, I’ve always had a love-hate relationship with my body. I always used to be looking for something I didn’t like about myself. One day I wanted to be skinnier, the other day I wanted more curves. But you just have to stop thinking about how you ‘should’ look. It makes you shine and feel confident. But it isn’t easy.”
Jissy: “There are days when I feel less good about myself. But in recent years, I have learned to love my body. I don’t think I’m the most beautiful woman in the world, but I don’t need to feel like that. I am happy about how I’ve seen my body transform from a teenager into a woman and I’m proud of that.”
What do you like the most about yourself?
Shari: “I’m happy with my eyes. They adjust to the weather. Sometimes they are light grey, other days blue.”
Jissy: “My eyes, because they really speak. A friend once said: ‘Jissy never has to say how she feels, her eyes and her look say enough.’ I also like my smile. I think I’m prettier when I smile. And last but not least: I like my breasts. That may be said, doesn’t it?”

What was the most beautiful moment in your life so far?
Shari: “Sunset in Bolivia. So special, the feeling is indescribable! But there were more wonderful moments, like when I got to hold my nephew and godchild for the first time. Reaching the top of the Machu Pichu Montana, with my sister, was also really great. I felt so invincible! That day, I realized you can get as far as you want to.”
Jissy: “That’s really a difficult question. There have been so many beautiful moments, I really can’t choose.”
What is the biggest dream you wish to realize?
Shari: “It would be amazing to run our own hostel in a warm country at the beach or in the mountains. Where people can go on a retreat and do some workshops, jamming sessions and open heart circles. And of cours I hope we can let our beauty products grow to a community that inspires lots of people.”
What else is on your bucket list?
Shari: “I don’t have a bucket list. I love to be spontaneous and always go with the flow. I got me into the most crazy and beautiful places and situaties. Unexpected things are the best.”
Jissy: “I also don’t have a bucket list. I don’t like to put pressure on myself. That list would be endless. (laughs) There’s so much I want to see and do. Iceland, New Zealand… No, I’m far from done traveling.”

What makes you happy?
Shari: “Sunrises and sunsets. A nice spontaneous trip. Music! And of course my two ponies.”
Jissy: “Waking up with the sun in my face. Having a long breakfast. Playing music. Fresh sheets on my bed. Open heart circles. Sporting. I find happiness in small things.”
What makes you sad?
Shari: “The way society handles problems in the world. Poverty. When I was traveling in South America, some places really woke me up.”
Jissy: “The way people sometimes treat each other. Injustice. Some time ago I was traveling in Bolivia with my sister. Seeing how hard some children had to work in slums. Those kids will never get the chances we got, that really touched me.”
What are you most proud of?
Shari: “Of what we achieved with our clothing line ‘Hippietwin’ and lifestle brand SOME. But I’m also proud of the person I’ve become. To see myself change and to live more consciously. Our mom made us hug trees and taught us how to meditate on our seventh. An education like this sometimes makes your life easier.” (laughs)
Jissy: “I’m proud of who I’ve become. And about the fact that I get to know myself better and better. I do what I love to do. I’m proud of our house, our products, my travels… Everything that made me who I am today.”
What do you regret the most?
Shari: “That I had to let my horse Shakira go because I was always traveling for work and didn’t have time enough for her. It was the best solution for her and she went to a great new home, but I still want her back. Even after all those years.”
Jissy: “I sometimes regret small things like a pair of pants I shouldn’t have bought or those couple of glasses of wine I drank too much… But in general I learned so much of the things I shouldn’t have done. They made me who I am today. So I don’t really regret anything at all.”
Where do you see yourself in ten years?
Shari: “Hopefully really happy, with a job that doesn’t feel like working. Actually, that’s what my life is like today.” (laughs)
Jissy: “I hope I will be enjoying life as much as I do now. I don’t want to put pressure on myself about where I should be in ten years from now. I take life as it comes. But of cours I want to continue everything I’m doing with a lot of passion.”
What song makes you instantly happy?
Shari: “I got life by Nina Simone. I really love this song. Very strong lyrics, certainly for a woman in that era.”
Jissy: “I’m going to pick a real classic: Don’t worry, be happy by Bobby McFerrin.”
What movie would you watch on a rainy Sunday afternoon?
Shari: “Whiplash. I really love movies about music. It makes me want to take my guitar and go crazy.” (laughs)
Jissy: “I prefer Disney movies, the real classics.”
What’s your favorite dish?
Shari: “I love Thai food, like pad thai or noodle soup. And of course I love French fries, I’m a real Belgian chick.”
Jissy: “I can only agree with Shari. But I also love salads.”
